Calvin, Giordano
Indoor Air Quality
Silent and invisible to the naked eye, the air we breathe in our residences and workplaces can lead to health
problems, absenteeism, medical costs, reduced productivity and lower earnings. Nationally, the so- called Sick
Building Syndrome (SBS) ailment results in cumulative losses in excess of $60 billion. For developers,
lenders, building and property owners and insurers, the effects of SBS in both commercial and residential
projects can lead to staggering legal and financial problems. However, a simple indoor air quality assessment
can be a key indicator whether to purchase or build a structure that is infested with mold and will require
expensive remediation.
CGA's new Indoor Air Quality Services Division speaks to a growing public concern about the role of molds
and other airborne contaminants for new -build projects, site investigations, or as part of due diligence prior to
purchasing existing structures. Headed by an experienced environmental scientist and support staff, CGA's
Indoor Air Quality Division offers a highly experienced team to provide consulting services for a broad
spectrum of client needs. CGA is there every step of the way, from on -site construction consulting services to
baseline assessments to large -scale mold remediation oversight. CGA also offers sampling at any stage of a
project, from surface identification sampling to post - remediation verification sampling, and utilizes local,
accredited laboratories for timely analyses.
For clients who are contemplating the acquisition of a large property, building new structures or have health
' concerns regarding their mixed -use properties, CGA's certified team will conduct an extensive indoor air
quality assessment that will include:
♦ Mold & Bacteria Investigations and Sampling
♦ Moisture Intrusion Problems
♦ Measurement of Thermal Parameters
♦ Measurement of Carbon Monoxide and Carbon Dioxide levels
♦ Measurement of Airborne Particulate levels
♦ Examination of the HVAC systems
City o%SunnY Isles Beach, Florida
Landscape Architeetttral Firnt(s)
RFQ No. 06 -03 -01
April 3, 2006
