Miramar Recreation Redevelopment Plan - As a result of rapid growth and expansion, numerous City -owned properties became outdated and no longer could support the increased population of the City. Conceptual plans were developed for the reuse of these facilities. These proposed improvements ranged in diversity from active parks including ball fields and playgrounds, to athletic indoor facilities and senior, after school and early development centers. Joseph C. Carter Park Improvements - A 21 -acre community park in the City of Fort Lauderdale whose amenities include ballfields, swimming pool and complex, gymnasium, tennis courts, basketball courts, parking lots, entranceways and fencing. Services provided include: paving, drainage, water and sewer, site planning design, lighting, landscape architecture, and construction services. Miramar Landscape Corridor Planning - Landscape Corridor Guidelines consisting of 15 corridors for the City of Miramar exemplifies Miller Legg's strong understanding of the entire landscape architectural procedural process beginning with the defining of the scope of services through the design process to the eventual final costing and assistance in enacting ordinances to effectuate the proposed design. Increased pressures of development on the City of Miramar necessitated Landscape Corridor Guidelines to be established to provide unification and an overall design theme for the citywide corridors to guide and keep pace with increased growth. Concurrently, the Miller Legg engineering staff completed a master roadway network plan within the City limits which provided a compliment to the landscape guidelines, as well as, for use in integration into the City's overall GIS database. Working closely with the engineering staff on the development of typical roadway sections, the landscape architectural design staff provided direction on roadway section designs to allow for optimum landscaping of the corridors, particularly with regard to applying sight distance clear zones and landscaping per FDOT standard indexes 545, 546 and 700. Utilization of curbing in lieu of open section was also encouraged to optimize landscaping adjacent to the roadways within the designated right -of -way areas. North Andrews Gardens Neighborhood Improvement ill B. Cohen, RLA, AICP Project - A 730 -acre community, containing approximately 30 miles of roadway, located in Unincorporated Broward County. Services provided in the first phase of the project included: a Basis of Design Report (BODR) evaluated the existing conditions and recommended engineering and landscape architecture solutions. The design and construction administration portions of the project include the design, modeling of water distribution system, sanitary sewer transmission system & stormwater system, construction /contract administration and public information, permitting of the water, sanitary sewer, drainage and roadway improvements, preparation of bidding documents, as well as the design of landscaping, irrigation and entry sign features for the neighborhood. Services provided by Miller Legg also include control surveys for aerial photography - tied USGS monumentation, right -of -way surveys, topographic surveys, SFWMD and BCEPD surface water permitting, FDOT permitting and design of traffic calming elements. Miller Legg assisted Broward County in obtaining approval for $4 million of grant money from FEMA for the drainage improvements portion of the project. ��O
