RESOLUTION NO. 2016- '2,040 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br /> SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING AN IN-KIND <br /> DONATION TO CHABAD RUSSIAN CENTER OF SOUTH FLORIDA <br /> FOR USE OF HERITAGE PARK FOR A COMMUNITY EVENT ON <br /> DECEMBER 29, 2016; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO <br /> ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION: <br /> PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Chabad Russian Center of South Florida, in collaboration with Chabad <br /> of Sunny Isles Beach and Chabad of Golden Beach wish to host their annual community event, <br /> Chanukah-Holiday Festival at Heritage Park on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:30 <br /> p.m. which is open to everyone; and <br /> WHEREAS, together, these not-for-profit organizations request the use of Heritage Park <br /> at no cost, including the use of the stage for a band, parking garage, restrooms and those support <br /> services, park clean-up and police services, with an estimated attendance of Three Hundred Fifty <br /> (350)people; and <br /> WHEREAS, the event will have carnival style rides provided by All Star Events who <br /> will name the City as additional insured and use them for all tent, table and chair rentals as well, <br /> and will build a menorah out of donated canned goods and light a real menorah; and <br /> WHEREAS, the cost for this donation would be expensed within the Parks and Police <br /> budgets and are estimated in an amount up to Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) in out-of- <br /> pocket expenses plus the donation of the Park use estimated in an amount up to Two Thousand <br /> Dollars ($2,000.00) for the rental which is reflected as a lack of revenue and is not an out-of- <br /> pocket expense for the City. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br /> CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Approval of Donation. The City Commission hereby approves the donation of in- <br /> kind support for the Chabad Russian Center of South Florida to utilize Heritage Park for their <br /> annual community event, Chanukah-Holiday Festival on Thursday, December 29, 2016, in an <br /> estimated amount of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00). <br /> Section 2.
