3.04 DISPOSAL OF CLEARED AND GRUBBED MATERIAL <br />A. The Contractor shall dispose of all material and debris from the clearing and <br />grubbing operation by shipping such material and debris and disposing <br />such material to a suitable location as required by the Engineer or the <br />governmental agencies. Disposal by deep burial will not be permitted. The <br />cost of disposal of material (including hauling) shall be considered a <br />subsidiary obligation of the Contractor, the cost of which shall be included in <br />the contract prices. <br />3.05 PRESERVATION OF TREES <br />A. The Contractor shall erect such barricades, guards, and enclosures as may <br />be considered necessary by him for the protection of all trees during all <br />construction operations. Refer to Section 01532 -2 for specifications. <br />B. Paint, oil solvents, asphalt, concrete, mortar, and other tree contaminants <br />shall not be used or stored within the tree dripline. <br />C. All tree trimming to facilitate construction shall be performed to the National <br />Arborist Association (NAA) standards by a certified tree company. <br />D. Any tree that is destructively damaged, destroyed, or cut down as a result of <br />this construction shall be replaced at an inch to inch diameter. The <br />minimum tree replacement shall be a two -inch diameter and ten foot high <br />Florida Grade #1 or better tree. The Department of Development <br />Administration shall be consulted as to the type of tree. <br />E. The Contractor shall exercise all necessary precautions so as not to <br />damage or destroy any trees or shrubs, including those lying within street <br />rights -of -way and project limits, and shall not trim or remove any trees <br />unless such trees have been approved for trimming or removal by the <br />jurisdictional agency or City. The Contractor shall notify the jurisdictional <br />agency and /or the City if any tree is damaged by the Contractor's <br />operations. If, in the opinion of said agency or the City, the damage is such <br />that replacement is necessary, the Contractor shall replace the tree at his <br />own expense as directed by the City. <br />END OF SECTION <br />1 07/06 02100 -2 05 -5564 <br />
