LJ <br />71 <br />1 <br />f <br />All material which, in the opinion of the Engineer, is not suitable for <br />reuse shall be spoiled as specified herein for disposal of unsuitable <br />materials. <br />F. Bedding Rock: <br />1. Bedding rock shall be 3/8" to 3/4" washed and graded limerock. <br />This rock shall be graded so that 99% will pass a 3/4" screen and <br />80% will be retained on a No. 8 screen. Material meeting the <br />Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specification for <br />No. 57 stone shall be acceptable. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 INSPECTION <br />A. Examine the areas and conditions under which excavating, filling, and <br />grading are to be performed. Do not proceed with the work until <br />unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected. <br />B. Examine and accept existing grade of walks, pavements and steps prior <br />to commencement of work and report to Engineer if elevations of existing <br />subgrade substantially vary from elevations shown on the Drawings. <br />3.02 EXCAVATION <br />1 07/06 <br />A. Excavation consists of removal and disposal of material encountered <br />when establishing required grade elevations. <br />B. Excavation Classifications: The following classifications of excavation will <br />be made when unanticipated rock excavation or unclassified excavation is <br />encountered in the work. Do not perform such work until material to be <br />excavated has been cross - sectioned and classified by Engineer. <br />1. Authorized earth excavation includes removal and disposal of <br />pavements and other obstructions visible on ground surface, <br />underground structures and utilities indicated to be demolished and <br />removed, material of any classification indicated in soil boring data <br />on subsurface conditions, and other materials encountered that are <br />not classified as rock excavation or unauthorized excavation. <br />2. Unauthorized excavation consists of removal of material beyond <br />the limits needed to establish required grade and subgrade <br />elevations without specific direction of Engineer. Unauthorized <br />excavation, as well as remedial work directed by the Engineer shall <br />be at the Contractor's expense. <br />02220 -7 05 -5564 <br />
