Firm’s Capabilities Our ability to perform under this contract is proven by the services we’ve performed under similar Professional Planning, Zoning, Civil and Traffic Engineering Consulting Services contracts over the past several years. With planners whose experience spans decades of public and private sector work, Johnson Engineering has capacity to help local governments and agencies with plans, code writing, application review, comprehensive plan amendments, and evaluation and appraisal reports to fulfill state mandates and local needs. A great deal of capacity is built into a firm like ours, with a multidisciplinary team of professionals our expertise includes planning, engineering, ecology, GIS and landscape architecture. Additionally, Cordova Rodriguez & Associates, Inc. supplements our team with planners and engineers who also provide similar services to municipalities, including Aventura. Our approach to providing continuing services is to be available as needed and offer the flexibility to act an extension of staff when needed. A clear understanding of the City’s needs and concerns is vital to see your objectives are met. We understand the importance of working in an inclusive setting with agency staff and the public to promote public involvement and observe sunshine law requirements. We have local experience and understanding, and work in close enough proximity to the City that we are available at a moment’s notice. Given the range of services that may be required under this contract, the scope and staffing for tasks will vary appropriate to the task. Our project manager will be your primary contact, available at all times. Depending on the task assigned, the project manager will mobilize the specialists who are appropriate for the task. Our project manager has 18 years of comprehensive planning and project management experience, working with or working for local government in South Florida. Most recently she served as a city manager in Miami-Dade County and oversaw the planning, design and construction of a new city hall and restoration of a historic municipal building using grant funds from the State of Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.
