She joined Johnson <br />Engineering in 2016 to coordinate the planning services in the firm’s Southeast Florida office. Heidi <br />manages projects that involve development feasibility and due diligence studies, governmental <br />coordination, preparation and presentation of land use and zoning applications, site planning, master <br />planning, and design. She has 18 years of professional experience in the planning and development field, <br />in both the public and private sector. Prior to joining Johnson Engineering, Heidi served as the City <br />Manager for the Village of Biscayne Park in Miami-Dade County. <br /> <br />Relevant Experience <br />¬ Fort Myers Density Evaluation - Provide professional planning services including Central <br />Community Redevelopment Plan Update, Land Development Code Amendments and <br />public involvement coordination to establish new density standards and a surplus density <br />program to encourage redevelopment, promote mix of uses, and incentivize improvements <br />within the Downtown and Central areas. <br />¬ Biscayne Park Historic Log Cabin Restoration - Oversaw design and rehabilitation of a <br />1933 log cabin which included the removal of non-historic additions and the restoration of <br />missing logs. <br />¬ Biscayne Park Land Development Code Update - Provided professional guidance to <br />volunteer boards and the Village Commission on matters related to swales, trees, <br />driveways, and property maintenance. <br />¬ Biscayne Park Village Hall Construction - Oversaw all planning, building design, site <br />drainage design and permitting for the construction of a new Village Hall using State of <br />Florida grant funds. <br />¬ Biscayne Park Annexation Application - Represented city to adjacent municipalities, <br />property owners and the County Commission on all annexation application matters. <br />¬ City of Wilton Manors Planning Department - Served as Department Director and City <br />Planner which included daily zoning reviews, comprehensive plan updates, rewriting of the <br />Land Development Code as it related to the Transit Oriented Corridor and various text <br />amendments. Represented the City Planning Department on Development Review <br />Committee, Special Events Committee and the Broward County Metropolitan Planning <br />Organization Technical Coordinating Committee. Prepared and presented items to the <br />Planning and Zoning Board, Board of Adjustment, Economic Development Task Force and <br />the City Commission. Managed and implemented the City’s Green Building Ordinance. <br />¬ Seminole Tribe of Florida - Create the Tribal Community Planning Department and <br />served as its Director. Created Tribal Master Planning process. Oversaw all Tribal <br />development projects and served as the clearinghouse for all related departments including <br />Environmental and Water Resources, Utilities, Roads and Housing. Represented the Tribe’s <br />inter-governmental planning issues including but not limited to United South and Eastern <br />Tribes, Broward County MPO and multiple comprehensive plan amendment reviews in <br />surrounding cities. Provided planning expertise in regards to land acquisition and <br />sovereignty issues. <br />¬ City of Hollywood - Served as Principal Planner. Coordinated development within the City <br />of Hollywood including historic preservation activities. Served as Staff Liaison for the <br />Development Review Board and Historic Preservation Board. Acted as a liaison between <br />property owners and County Historical Commission in matters pertaining to the tax <br />abatement program.
