SECTION 02484 <br />SOIL PREPARATION AND SOIL MIXES <br />PART 1 - <br />GENERAL <br />1.01 <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />A. <br />Provide all labor, materials, necessary equipment and services to <br />complete the soil preparation and soil mixes work, as indicated on the <br />drawings, as specified herein or both, except as for items specifically <br />indicated as "NIC ITEMS ". <br />B. <br />Including, but not limited to: <br />1. Topsoil <br />2. Soil Conditioners <br />3. Planting Soil Mixes <br />1.02 <br />RELATED WORK <br />A. <br />Section 02210 - Fine Grading <br />B. <br />Section 02481 - Shrub and Tree Relocation <br />C. <br />Section 02487 - Sodding <br />D. <br />Section 02490 - Trees, Plants, and Groundcover <br />1.03 <br />QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. <br />Testing Agency: Independent testing laboratory <br />B. <br />Requirements or Regulatory Agencies: Conform to requirements of all <br />City, County and State agencies. <br />C. <br />Reference standards. <br />1.04 <br />SUBMITTALS: <br />A. <br />Test Reports: Test reports shall consist of pH range, major and minor <br />element analysis, soluble salt concentrations, and recommendations. <br />Reports shall be identified by project name, date, and soil mix type. <br />1. Results of topsoil (on -site existing soil) analysis. <br />2. Results of planting soil mix(es) analysis: One test required per <br />each type of soil mix (note: pH ranges for plant type). <br />B. <br />Certificates: <br />1. The Contractor must submit certificates from suppliers stating that <br />the topsoil mix, sod and other landscape material used comply with <br />requirements specified. <br />December 2006 02484 -1 06 -5723 <br />
