01/19/2007 15:22 9549211496 CGA PAGE 10 <br />SECTION 13125 <br />ALL STEEL GABLE RESTROOM & OFFICE SHELTER <br />TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS <br />I. Design Criteria: Structure(s) shall be designed to be free standing, open air pavilion, <br />in conformance with all applicable building code. Manufactured by RCP Shelters: PH: <br />800 -525 -0207, web: www.rcnshelters.com.; or approved equal. <br />II. Scope: Rectangular picnic pavilion over a minimum slab thickness of eight (8) inches <br />or greater to accommodate anchor bolts and structural members. Monolithic or <br />thickened slabs are permissible for this project_ Shelter shall have a clear space, <br />without a center column or open knee bracing. The contractor shall be responsible for <br />unloading, temporary storage, soil testing (if necessary), site preparation, concrete slab, <br />and erection of structures. Structure will be designed by professional, registered <br />engineers. <br />Restrooms shall be framed under specified shelter. Plumbing and electrical engineering <br />included in package_ Plumbing and electrical rough -in shall be performed by owner or <br />contractor. Plumbing and electrical. fixtures are to be supplied by the contractor. <br />III. Eave & Pitch: Eave height to be minimum 7' -6" at columns. Roof pitch shall be <br />4:12. <br />IV, Columns: Columns shall be structural tube steel with based plate, cap, and beam to <br />column connection. The shelter shall be set on prepared concrete footings. Foundation <br />will be designed and constructed to meet the local code and good construction practices <br />for the specific site conditions. The structure shall be attached to the top of the concrete <br />by use of four (4) anchor bolts per column as specified by the manufacturer. Anchor <br />bolts, (supplied by GC), shall be hidden by the concrete pad. <br />V. Frame: All structural framing shall be structural tube steel with end caps to form a <br />clean, neat appearance with no place for bird nesting. Since all connections will bolt <br />together, field welding shall not be required. Bolts shall be concealed within the tubing <br />where possible. The steel frame and columns shall be ;Factory prime painted with a rust <br />inhibitive modified alkyd pruner according to Steel Strictures Painting Council (SSPC- <br />SP2) as outlined in RISC 6.5. <br />VI. Column/Frame Finish: Steel columns and frame to be factory prime painted with a <br />rust inhibitive modified alkyd primer according to Steel Structures Painting Council <br />(SSPC -SP2) as outlined in AISC 6.5. The columns and frame shall be finished painted <br />in the field with a weather resistant paint, supplied and applied by the contractor. <br />■ Factory Finish Paint: The columns and frame shall be factory finish painted <br />with two coats weather resistant enamel paint. <br />December 20, 2006 13125 -1 06 -5723 <br />
