To become a long term asset for the community it serves, the new Parking <br />Garage must be simultaneously functional, cost effective, secure and aesthetically pleasing. To ensure <br />success, this project will need to be a collaborative effort of an established local architectural and <br />engineering team coupled with the input of City staff and its representatives in a true "partnering" work <br />environment. As the Architects for the City's award winning Government Center, our goal will be to provide <br />the same high level of professional services to the City resulting in a facility that will be an asset to the <br />community for many years into the future. <br /> <br />e <br />e <br />e <br />e <br />e <br /> <br />Although parking garages are typically not considered to be "design-oriented" projects, this particular <br />parking garage is somewhat of an exception to this rule given its highly visible site and context in which <br />it will be located. For the thousands of cars and individuals that use the Lehman Causeway on a daily <br />basis, this garage will be the first and last image they have of the City of Sunny Isles Beach and therefore <br />its design needs to be carefully orchestrated. Having planned, programmed and designed numerous <br />parking garages throughout Florida, Spillis Candela DMJM would like to be the City's Architect for this <br />project. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Founded in 1926, Spillis Candela DMJM is headquartered in Coral Gables and currently employs more <br />than 225 professionals. Our firm will be the "Prime" consultant to the City and will provide "all" basic <br />design services for this project including Architecture, Structural, MEP, and Civil Engineering. We will be <br />supported by several technical consultants including: EDAW (Landscape Architecture); David Plummer <br />& Associates (Traffic / Parking); Kaderabek Co. (Geotechnical); Keith & Associates (Surveying) and CMS, <br />Inc. (Cost Estimating). In summary, Spillis Candela DMJM offers the following benefits to the City: <br /> <br />e <br />e <br /> <br />Parking Garage Experience: <br />Spill is Candela DMJM has been responsible for the planning and design of more than 30 parking garages <br />throughout Florida totaling more than 30,000 cars. Our firm is very familiar with this specific building type <br />and includes garages that range in size from less than 200 cars to more than 9000 cars.
