<br />Professional General Engineering Consultant- <br />Traffic Ellgineering <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />SECTION THREE <br />ST AFFING <br /> <br />Greater efficiency is achieved by using specialized professionals who have successfully completed similar <br />projects and who can focus on the real needs of a project. V ANUS has built a company around the traffic <br />engineering and transportation planning disciplines. Within our three Florida offices, V ANUS employs <br />34 professional, technical, and administrative personnel. Of those 34 employees, V ANUS has 14 <br />registered professional engineers, thrce engineering interns, three designers, one certified technician, and <br />four technical specialists. The proposed staff of the V ANUS Team, shown on the following figure, brings <br />a balanced combination of skills and experience that are ideally suited to this project. The V ANUS Team <br />consists of senior engineers and hands-on technical staff experienced in all elements of transportation <br />engineering, transportation planning, ITS, roadway and traffic design, and signal timing. They all have <br />experience with conducting the type of tasks required for this contract. The V ANUS Team is confident <br />that the proposed staff can provide the required services to the complete satisfaction of the City of Sunny <br />Isles. <br /> <br />The following key professional staff will be assigned to the project <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Ken Vorce, PE, will serve as Project Manager. Mr. Vorce has over 38 years of transportation <br />engineering experience. He served in various professional engineering positions in FOOT District Six <br />(including District Traffic Operations Engineer) from 1985 thorough 1993. Over the past 13 years, while <br />employed with various South Florida consulting firms, Mr. Vorce has performed in excess of 150 traffic <br />operations and safety study assignments. Mr. Vorce served as Project Manager on the FDOT District Six <br />Districtwide Minor Design project, where he designed several minor roadway improvement type projects <br />which ranged from intersection and arterial channelization improvements to minor signing and marking <br />upgrades. He is currcntly managing the FDOT District Six Traffic Operations and Safety Studies <br />contracts. In addition, Mr. Vorce serves as Project Manager on the FDOT District Four General ITS <br />Consultant contract. <br /> <br />Jay H.L. Calhoun, PE, will serve as Quality Control Officer. Mr. Calhoun has over 29 years of <br />transportation engineering and planning experience. He served as Project Manager for the FDOT District <br />Three Districtwide Miscellaneous Traffic Operations Analysis/Design Services Project, which included <br />signal timing, intersection analyses, and public involvement presentations for locations throughout the <br />Panhandle. As Project Manager for the FDOT District Seven Districtwide Traffic Operations Consultant <br />project, Mr. Calhoun prepared over 70 intersection analyses, signalization plans and signal warrant <br />analyses. He served as Project Manager for the Charlotte, Collier, and Palm Beach counties A TMS design <br />projects. He also served as Project Manager for the Palm Beach County Interim Traffic Management <br />System (ITMS), where he designed a unique ITS application that used portable devices to provide real- <br />time information to motorists on 1-95. <br /> <br />Susan Joel, PE, PTOE, will serve as Transportation Planning Leader. Ms. Joel has over 20 years of <br />experience. Ms. Joel served as Project Manager on the City of Cape Coral Downtown CRA Traffic <br />Study. She currently serves as Project Manager on the FDOT District One Traffic Operations Studies <br />contract. Ms. Joel is also providing on-call services for St. Lucie County, which includes reviewing <br />traffic impact studies, DRIs, and impact fee credits. She served as the Design Project Manager on the <br />Manatee County A TIS Design-Build project where she was responsible for the implementation of eight <br />DMSs in Manatee County to be used for beach parking, diversions, and hurricane evacuations.
