<br />Mr. Robert E. Chisholm, FAIA, NCARB, (B. Arch

<br />University of Florida 1973, Masters in Urban Design
<br />University of Miami 1977) was formerly a member of the
<br />Metro Dade County Manager's Office in the Office of
<br />Community and Economic Development (aCED) during
<br />the 1970's. Mr. Chisholm was lead principal planner in
<br />charge of planning and implementation of capital
<br />improvement projects in several urban neighborhoods.
<br />Mr. Chisholm dealt directly with members of the
<br />Federal, State, County and City governments in
<br />planning, funding and implementation of projects. In
<br />1983 Mr. Chisholm was a candidate for the post of
<br />Assistant Secretary of Transportation for the United
<br />States Department of Transportation.

<br />At the urban planning level, Mr. Chisholm has won
<br />national urban design awards for the Park West
<br />National Urban Design Competition and for the Miami
<br />Beach Art Deco District Historic Preservation Master
<br />Plan. The project also won awards of special
<br />recognition at the state level. Since 1975 Mr.
<br />Chisholm has assisted in drafting, planning and
<br />establishing design guidelines for the Little Havana
<br />District. He was appointed to the Latin Quarter
<br />Review Board in which he served as Vice-Chairman
<br />over a four-year period, he was also Chairman of the
<br />Urban Development Review Board for the City of
<br />Miami. Since the early 1980's, Mr. Chisholm has
<br />been involved in numerous architectural and urban
<br />design projects which include public school design,
<br />rap.i? transit stations, state laboratories, university
<br />facIlities, school facilities, surgical center, commercial
<br />centers, theater and airport facilities; many of the
<br />projects have received design award recognition.
<br />
<br />Mr. Chisholm served as President of the
<br />Miami/American Institute of Architects (AlA) in 1992 and
<br />led the National AlA Hurricane Andrew recovery effort
<br />and later served as member of the Board of Directors of
<br />the State of Florida/American Institute of Architects in
<br />subsequent years. He was consequently elected as a
<br />Fellow in the American Institute of Architects in 1995.

<br />Mr. Chisholm was named to the Board of Directors of
<br />the Community Partnership for the Homeless, Inc. in
<br />Dade County, Florida in 1993 and is chairman of the
<br />Design and Construction Committee, which has
<br />designed and completed two prototype homeless
<br />assistance centers (HAC) to assist the 6,000
<br />homeless men, women and children in South Florida.
<br />The first, HAC/1 was selected for an Award of
<br />Excellence in Design by the American Institute of
<br />Architects in 1995 and declared the national model

<br />R E. Chisholm Architects, Inc. was named Architectural
<br />Firm of the Year in 1992 and Mr. Robert E. Chisholm
<br />was elected to the College of Fellows of the American
<br />Institute of Architects (FAIA) in 1996, the highest AlA
<br />honor attainable by any member architect for this
<br />150-year-old organization.
<br />
<br />In May of 1998, the Everglades Farmworker Villages, a
<br />designed community for 3,000 migrant farmworkers and
<br />families through the United States Department of
<br />Agriculture, received a National Maxwell Award of
<br />Excellence for design from the Fannie Mae Foundation
<br />in Washington, D.C.
<br />
<br />In May 1999, RE. Chisholm Architects, Inc. was named
<br />Entrepreneur of the Year by The South Beach & Greater
<br />Miami Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
<br />
<br />In May, 2001 Mr. Chisholm was awarded the Jubilee
<br />2000 Pontifical Medal by the Vatican and the
<br />Archdiocese of Miami.
<br />
<br />In June, 2002, Mr. Chisholm was named Chairman of
<br />the South Florida National Parks Trust, which is part of
<br />the National Parks Foundation, chartered by Congress in
<br />1967 to work directly with the United States National
<br />Parks System and the US Department of Interiors.
<br />
<br />In 2004, Mr. Chisholm was named to the Miami-Dade
<br />College Hall of Fame in Architecture and was awarded
<br />the American Institute of Architects Charles W. Clary
<br />
<br />In 2005, State of Florida AlA Government Service
<br />Award and also Mr. Chisholm was selected for the
<br />Miami/American Institute of Architects Silver Medal
<br />Award for architectural excellence and leadership. In
<br />2005, Mr. Chisholm was a finalist in Architecture in
<br />Building our Community Awards in South Florida.
<br />
<br />In 2006, Mr. Chisholm was selected to receive the
<br />Alvah H. Chapman Jr. Humanitarian of the Year Award
<br />in recognition for leadership in helping the homeless in
<br />Miami-Dade County.
<br />
<br />In 2006, Mr. Chisholm received the March of Dimes
<br />Award for Excellence in Architecture in our community.
<br />
<br />In March 2007, RE. Chisholm Architects, Inc. was
<br />named to the Top 100 Minority Business in Dade
<br />County by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.
<br />
<br />In July, 2007, Robert E. Chisholm, FAIA received the
<br />State of Florida American Institute of Architects Silver
<br />Medal Award.
