He said these lights are to reduce the glare into the
adjoining properties.

Public Speakers: none

Commissioner Iglesias said there are more options out there and that he would like to get
with the lighting engineer in DOT and give out a booklet to staff and Commission to look at
as well. City Manager Szerlag asked if he was referring to Bollards, and he said the poles
and the bollards, and City Manager Szerlag suggested talking about this tomorrow at the
workshop when we are a little fresher, when they go over the Capital Projects, there is the
issue of scrapping what is already up there at a cost. Mayor Edelcup said what they are
trying to decide is to leave the ones that are currently there that we don't want to scrap those
and to go forward.

Assistant City Manager Vera asked for a consensus from the Commission noting that the
sculpture for the Town Center Park is ready, and asked for guidance as to when to put it up.
Mayor Edelcup suggested mid August or to wait until more residents are back. Assistant
City Manager Vera said the sculpture is in a warehouse and the artist wants to get it over here
and get paid. Mayor Edelcup suggested getting it over here and schedule it sometime in
August. He asked when the next Sunny Serenade is, and Cultural and Human Services
Director Susan Simpson said September 20, 2006, and Mayor Edelcup suggested scheduling
it in the Town Center Park and we can do it all at the same time.

12C. Mayor Edelcup said that since the report was just presented to them, they
have not had an opportunity to look at it in detail. He said in looking at it briefly it looks all
inclusive, it shows that we have options that gives us a cost range of about $200,000 to
$300,000, and he asked the Commission to look at it carefully so that we can discuss it at
perhaps the Budget Workshop tomorrow morning, we can either add it on then or hear it in
September. He said his feeling is to try to hold it as close to the $200,000 number as
possible. Commissioner Iglesias said to try to get people to sponsor, and Mayor Ede1cup
agreed, we can look for people to underwrite part of the cost.

Public Speakers: Janet Cini

Mayor Edelcup thanked the Committee members for putting this document together as it is
very comprehensive and he appreciates all their time and effort.
