Although the project is in <br />its preliminary stages, commissioners seem eager to move ahead with the center. <br /> <br />The next step: Wometco will have to come back with a proposal that will include financial <br />details and more specific information about the project. Any deal would have to go before <br />the commission for a final vote at a public meeting. <br /> <br />"'We expect to negotiate a fair deal [with Wometco]," Ottinot said. <br /> <br />Scholl said he also hopes the new attraction would encourage tourists to stay at the city's <br />hotels and resorts. But he wants it to draw locals as well. <br /> <br />Among the ideas tossed around: a banquet hall for weddings, conference rooms for <br />business meetings, educational classes for elementary, middle and high school students <br />and a marine tank where visitors can dive in and swim with fish and other marine life. <br /> <br />"'t's really unique to Northeast Dade," he said.
