<br />ORDINANCE NO. 2011-~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION <br />265-47(E) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH REGARDING CLEAR SIGHT <br />TRIANGLES FOR DRIVEWAYS; PROVIDING FOR <br />SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR REPEALER; PROVIDING <br />FOR INCLUSION IN THE CODE; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City seeks to provide safety for their residents and visitors by amending <br />the driveway standard specifications; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to amend its code to improve and clarify <br />requirements for the clear sight triangles regarding driveways and street intersections. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section I. Amendment. Section 265-47 (E) of the Code of the City of Sunny Isles Beach is <br />hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />~ 265-47 Driveway standards <br /> <br />E. Clear sight triangles. Clear sight triangles. All driveways and street intersections <br />shall provide clear sight triangles in both directions as depicted below in the Safe <br />Sight Distance Triangle Table: <br /> <br />(1) Measurement. Clear sight triangles on both sides of all driveways, <br />medians and at all street intersections shall be measured as follo'.vs: <br /> <br />(a) Two major streets: 20 feet along the right of way lines from the <br />intersection of two major streets. <br /> <br />(b) Major street/local street: 20 feet along the right of way lines from <br />the intersection of a major street with a local street. <br /> <br />(c) Two local streets: 20 feet along the right of way lines from the <br />intersection of 1'.'10 local streets. <br /> <br />Words added underlined, words stflGkeH deleted (ed) <br /> <br />Page I of4 <br />
