Grandinetti, Police Captain <br /> <br />9/16/2010 <br /> <br />Selecting Two (2) Towing Companies to Perform Police Towing Services <br />for the City, in Response to RFP No. 10-07-01 <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />It is recommended that the City Commission approve a Resolution authorizing <br />the Mayor to enter into an agreement with Midtown Towing of Miami, Inc. and <br />Downtown Towing Company, Inc. to provide police towing services. <br /> <br />REASONS: <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department requires the services of towing <br />companies on a rotation for the removal, impounding, and/or storage of junk <br />vehicles, abandoned vehicles, illegally parked vehicles, non-drivable vehicles at <br />accident scenes, the vehicles of prisoners arrested by the City of Sunny Isles <br />Beach Police Department, confiscated vehicles, or for any other reason that <br />arises from the streets or other areas within the City, or from other locations as <br />directed by the Police Department, for a period of three years. <br /> <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br /> <br />The two recommended tow companies were both qualified responsive bidders to <br />the RFP # 10-07-01 issued on July 15, 2010 and closed on July 29, 2010 <br /> <br />FUNDING SOURCE: <br /> <br />None Required <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />.
