o

.

o

-

."'.':".-..

City of Cape Coral

To Whom It May Concern,

r-

I have been working for the City of Cape Coral for 15 years. I am one of the City's four
Project Managers and one of my more recent tasks was to oversee the clean up of our 440
mile canal system. These canals were heavily littered with all types of foreign debris,
especially downed trees as II result of Hurricane Charley on August 13th of 2004. We
were able to secure 2.9 million dollars in funding from the U.S. Department of
Agriculture for this clean up effort and contracted with Tag Grinding for the largest
portion of this work. As oftoday, 3-2-05, we are about 95% complete with the project
and Tag Grinding crews have removed over 100,000 cubic yards ofborticultural debris
and 2500 tons of miscellaneous debris.

:-

This has been a fairly smooth project with very few problems. This in large part is due to
the excellent commWlication ai1d cooperation from Jerry BrookB of Tag Grinding.
Whenever any problems, scheduling conflicts or billing concerns came up. he was always
a phone call away and would immediately itddress any concerns before they became a
problem. We informed him early on of all of the USDA guidelines and requirements as
far as documentation and regulations and they made the process easy by the amount of
communication and cooperation provided. It seemed as we dealt with new hurdles along
the way, he was always willing to take on whatever additional task we would throw at
them.

Based on our expen(:nce with Tag Grinding. we would not hesitate to utilize their
services again or recommend them to other municipalities with the same needs.

If you have any questions or need any additional info you may contact me at;

:-

Mark Ridenour
Project MlIIJager
Public Works Department
City of Cape Coral
PO Box 150027
Cape Coral, Florida 33915-0027

Tel. 239-574-0724
Fax 239-574-0732
EmaiI.MridenoU@capecoral.net

Public Works Department _ Administration.
