<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2011 - I Ls R'L <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING CHANGE <br />ORDER NO. 9 TO AGREEMENT WITH COASTAL <br />CONSTRUCTION COMP ANY FOR PROFESSIONAL <br />CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR THE EXPANSION OF THE <br />SCOPE FOR THE HERITAGE PARK AND PARKING <br />GARAGE PROJECT, DECREASING THE AMOUNT OF THE <br />AGREEMENT IN AN AMOUNT OF THREE HUNDRED FOUR <br />THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHTEEN DOLLARS AND <br />FORTY CENTS ($304,118.40), ATTACHED HERETO AS <br />EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO <br />ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS <br />RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach issued Request for Qualifications No. 09- <br />03-01 for Professional Construction Services for the Heritage Park and Parking Garage; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on June 18, 2009 via Resolution No. 2009-1434, the City Commission <br />awarded Request for Qualifications No. 09-03-01, and entered into an agreement with Coastal <br />Construction Company, to provide construction services for Heritage Park and Parking <br />Garage, in an amount not to exceed Nine Million Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars <br />($9,250,000.00); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City bifurcated the agreement to allow the contractor to commence <br />construction on the parking garage portion of the project, and entered into a contract for the <br />construction of the parking garage at Heritage Park for an amount not to exceed Six Million <br />Six Hundred Thousand Forty Dollars ($6,600,040.00); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City amended the plan to change the fayade to add a decorative <br />screening to the parking garage, add masonry and to address additional comments from the <br />Fire Department, and on January 28, 2010 via Resolution No. 2010-1520 the City <br />Commission approved Change Order No. 1 to the Agreement with Coastal Construction <br />Company to provide these services for the construction of the Heritage Park and Parking <br />Garage Project, in an amount not to exceed Nine Hundred Three Thousand Four Hundred <br />Twenty-Seven Dollars ($903,427.00), bringing the total contract amount not to exceed to <br />Seven Million Five Hundred Three Thousand Four Hundred Sixty-Seven Dollars <br />($7,503,467.00) for the parking garage, unless amended by prior approval of the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission has approved several change orders, which include <br />Change Order No.8, which increases the contract amount for the Heritage Park to Thirteen <br />Million Four Hundred Fifty Thousand Nine Hundred Forty-One Dollars ($13,450,941.00); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Change Order No. 9 to the Agreement with Coastal Construction <br />Company for the construction of the Heritage Park and Parking Garage Project, decreases the <br />amount of the Agreement by Three Hundred Four Thousand One Hundred Eighteen Dollars <br />and Forty Cents ($304,118.40), bringing the total contract amount not to exceed to Thirteen <br /> <br />R20 II-Coastal Cons-Heritage Pk & Pkg Garage CO#8 Page 1 of 3 <br />
