Each year the race event has <br />grown. The 20 I 0 race, the most successful to date, with over 30 race teams included one <br />international racer and is expected to attract more this year. The race event provides for <br />local, national, and international media attention showcasing Sunny Isles Beach as an <br />oceanside destination with two televised shows aired in the United States and Qatar. <br /> <br />This event attracts race teams, their families and spectators that stay in Sunny Isles Beach <br />hotels and contribute to the local economy. <br /> <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br /> <br />Offshore Events LLC has requested an additional $25,000.00 for this year's race event to <br />hire a dedicated event producer and a safety coordinator. The additional $25,000.00 is <br />not budgeted and would need to be funded through the contingency fund. <br /> <br />FUNDING SOURCE: <br /> <br />$40,000.00 is budgeted and available in the Special Events Account, account number <br />10.572.5574. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />.
