The scale, proportion, brick, precast and metal work <br />were designed to match that of the nearby Jacksonville Veterans Memorial <br />Arena. Built in conjunction with another garage for the City of Jacksonville, <br />Haskell delivered both garages at a cost savings of $1 ,955,382 below the <br />original budget. One structure involved a 2-level addition to a parking structure <br />adding 464 spaces with a 43,000 s.f. attached office. The second structure is <br />a 4-level, 551-space garage and the third is a 3-level, 634 space garage. All <br />garages are built of precast. The precast <br />structure included four new elevators, a new transformer vault, future office <br />shell space, parking controls, security systems, landscaping and irrigation. <br />Maintenance of traffic, coordination with Port users, and passenger safety <br />at the Port were a primary focus throughout construction.
