<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2011-!J..Q.-5 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE <br />PURCHASE OF TWO (2) OUTBOARD BOAT MOTORS FROM <br />TnT CUSTOM MARINE, INC. FOR THE POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THIRTY <br />THOUSAND DOLLARS ($30,000.00), A TT ACHED HERETO AS <br />EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO <br />ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS <br />RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after numerous repairs and over 2,500 hours of service on the existing <br />Sunny Isles Beach Police Department's Police Boat motors, it is no longer cost effective to <br />maintain the existing, out of warranty motors; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department now needs to purchase two 250 hp Mercury Verado <br />Boat Motors under the Florida State Contract #120-440-08-1, Section 7.1, from TnT Custom <br />Marine, Inc., at a price not to exceed Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,000.00) installed, attached <br />hereto as Exhibit "A"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff determined that the above charges were reasonable and customary for <br />said purchase and recommends that the Commission approve the purchase; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, funding for the above boat motors will be paid for through the Department <br />of Justice (DOJ) Forfeiture Account #60-521-5496. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authorizing the Purchase of Boat Motors. The City Commission hereby <br />authorizes the purchase of two (2) 250 hp Mercury Verado Boat Motors, in an amount not to <br />exceed Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,000.00), Attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
