Remove the following: (1) those structures, or portions of structures, <br />shown in the plans to be removed; (2) those structures, or portions of structures, found <br />within the limits of the area to be cleared and grubbed, and directed by the Engineer to be <br />removed; (3) those structures, or portion of structures, which are necessary to be removed <br />in order to construct new structures; and (4) other appurtenances or obstructions which <br />may be designated in the Contract Documents as to be included in an item of payment for <br />the work under this Article. <br />Notify the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) using DEP <br />Form 62-257 .900( 1) "Notice of Asbestos Renovation or Demolition" at least 10 working <br />days prior to the demolition or renovation of any structures, even if asbestos is not found <br />on the project. Provide a copy of this notice to the Engineer. <br />110-6.2 Method of Removal: <br />110-6.2.1 General: Remove the structures in such a way so as to leave no <br />obstructions to any proposed new structures or to any waterways. Pull, cut off, or break <br />off pilings to the requirements of the permit or other Contract Documents, whichever <br />requires the deepest removal, but not less than 2 feet [0.6 m] below the finish ground line. <br />In the event that the plans indicate channel excavation to be done by others, consider the <br />finish ground line as the limits of such excavation.
