Other Key Project Personnel <br /> <br />Skatepark Designer & Community Involvement Specialist <br />Aaron Spohn (Spohn Ranch Skateparks) - With over 30 years of involvement in skating and actions <br />sports, Aaron is a pioneering figure in action sports. Founding Spohn Ranch in <br />1992, he began to design and build ramps and courses for high profile <br />skateboarding events. Aaron worked with ESPN to develop the X-Games <br />concept; designing and building structures for the competitions. <br /> <br />..., <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Aaron is well known as a top skatepark designer, with glowing <br />recommendations from professional athletes like Tony Hawk, Danny Way, and Paul "P-Rod" Rodriguez, <br />Jr. His recent design for the LA Skate Plaza in Wilmington, CA has been lauded by Transworld <br />Skateboarding Magazine, Thrasher Magazine and pro skaters across the country. <br /> <br />He was also a consultant to the 1996 Atlanta Olympics tribute to extreme sports and is a member of the <br />ASTM subcommittee establishing guidelines for skatepark construction safety. Aaron has spent <br />considerable effort promoting the industry as a whole and sharing his extensive knowledge. He has been <br />an editorial contributor to Athletic Business Magazine, Landscape Architect and Specifier News, the <br />National Park and Recreation Association Magazine and other industry trade magazines, was editor of <br />60 Tricks skate magazine, and has been a speaker and session leader at the National Park and Recreation <br />Association Conference as well as almost every state Park and Recreation Association. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />,.., <br />I <br /> <br />,.., <br />. <br /> <br />" <br />. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Working closely with Hays and the rest of the project team, Aaron will translate the skaters wishes into <br />engineered 3D drawings of an amazing skate plaza. His knowledge of current skatepark design and the <br />most famous street spots in the world means that Sunny Isles' plaza will have the best of tested skate <br />elements, as well as the latest obstacles and themes. <br /> <br />Aaron has performed similar work on seventy skatepark projects of comparable size and scope (above <br />10,000 sq. ft. with a budget above $350,000). During the planning and design phase, Aaron will spend <br />an average of 10% of his work week on Sunny Isles' project. He will speak with Hays and the project <br />team weekly about the project, averaging 1 call every 4 days. During construction, he will spend less <br />than 5% of his week on Sunny Isles' project, coordinating with Hays to make sure that all work is on- <br />budget and on-schedule. He will not be substituted as skatepark designer without the City's approval. <br /> <br />., <br />. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />landscape Architect <br /> <br />Kathryn O'Leary Richards (O'Leary Richards Design Associates) - With over <br />twenty-five years of experience as a Landscape Architect in the South Florida area, <br />Kathryn has extensive experience in working with municipalities and State Agencies <br />and has worked on several high profile projects. She provides continuity and <br />coordination through all phases of each project, from initial planning through <br />design, bidding and construction. She is an advocate of quality design and <br />dedicated to the highest principles of professionalism.
