<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2011 - ) 111/ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE RESULTS OF <br />THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD ON TUESDAY, MAY 24, 2011, ON A <br />PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE CITY CHARTER; PROVIDING <br />FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, the City of Sunny Isles Beach held a Special <br />Election on a proposed Amendment to the City Charter; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to accept the results of the Special Election held <br />on May 24,2011. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br />BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Accept Results of Special Election. The City Commission of the City of Sunny <br /> <br />Isles Beach hereby accepts the results of the Special Election held on May 24, 2011, as follows: <br /> <br />1. Require Persons Runnine: from a Particular Residential Area be a <br />Resident of the Residential Area Continuouslv for at Least One Year <br />Prior to Oualifvine: <br /> <br />The City Charter currently provides that a person running from a particular <br />residential area be a resident of that area at the time of qualifying. It is <br />proposed that the Charter be amended to require a person running from a <br />particular residential area to be a resident of that area continuously for at least <br />one year prior to qualifying. <br /> <br />Shall the above described amendment be adopted? <br /> <br />Yes [539] <br /> <br />No [292] <br /> <br />Section 2. <br />adoption. <br /> <br />Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br /> <br />PASSED and ADOPTED this 15th day of June 2011. <br /> <br /> <br />. /:? <br />orman S.
