Grandinetti, Police Captain <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />7/21/2011 <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />Authorization to Apply For, Receive and Expend Grant Money from <br />the Miami-Dade County, Federal Drug Control and System <br />Improvement Program (Byrne /JAG Grant FY2012) for the <br />purchase of two (2) Rapid Mobile ID Systems. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />It is recommended that the City Commission approve a Resolution authorizing <br />the Mayor to apply for, receive, and expend monies from the Miami-Dade County <br />Federal Drug Control and System Improvement Program (Byrne/JAG Grant) in <br />the amount of $4,082 <br /> <br />REASONS: <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department has been given preliminary <br />approval of grant funds totaling $4,082.00 in order to purchase (2) Rapid Mobile <br />ID Systems. <br /> <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br /> <br />By utilizing grant funds it would allow us to purchase two (2) Rapid Mobile Id <br />systems. These systems would allow officers to capture the subject's fingerprints <br />directly from the streets assuring their true identity. The system will identify <br />criminal records and arrest warrant information based on the fingerprints. <br /> <br />FUNDING SOURCE: <br /> <br />Byrne / JAG Grant Reimbursement $4082 <br />Police General Fund 10.521-5641 $ 312 <br /> <br />A TT ACHMENTS: <br />.
