<br />Preview <br /> <br />Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br /> <br />(305) 947-0606 City Hall <br />(305) 949-3113 Fax <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />The Honorable Mayor and City Commission <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Giovanni Batista, Public Works Director <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />7/21/2011 <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />Ratification of repair cost associated with the street sweeper. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the Commission ratify the repair costs of the street sweeper <br />performed by Environmental Products in an amount not to exceed $14,599.03. <br /> <br />REASONS: <br /> <br />Under the Florida Department of Protection permit for Municipal Separate Storm Sewer <br />Systems (MS4s), the City is required to maintain its own stofmwater system and <br />discharge points. The permit requires that public streets, roads, and rights-of-way <br />continue to be operated and maintained in a manner to reduce the discharge of pollutants <br />in stormwater. The City street sweeper is an integral part of the operation to maintain the <br />system. To avoid hinderances to service, any repairs are required to be addressed <br />promptly to ensure continued service to the community and to remain compliant with <br />State and Federal regulations. <br /> <br />FUNDING SOURCE: <br /> <br />Funding from Account No. 40-538.5462 <br /> <br />A TT ACHMENTS: <br />.
