<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2011 - \., 4 ~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE <br />PURCHASE OF LAPTOP COMPUTERS, DESKTOP <br />WORKST A TIONS AND ASSOCIATED ACCESSORIES FROM <br />DELL FOR THE CITY-WIDE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM, <br />UNDER STATE OF FLORIDA CONTRACT #250-040-08-1, IN A <br />TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THIRTY-FIVE <br />THOUSAND DOLLARS ($35,000.00), ATTACHED HERETO AS <br />EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO <br />ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS <br />RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City is in need of purchasing computers to replace agmg, slow <br />problematic computers that have been placed in service since February 2004; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Information Technology Department (IT) researched and established a <br />cost effective replacement cycle of three (3) to four (4) years for all City computers to assure <br />optimal performance; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, IT wishes to purchase new computer servers, workstations, and other <br />related hardware and software, in order to replace twenty-two (22) desktop computers and six (6) <br />Dell Laptop Computers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Staff has requested a quote from Dell, a leader in the computer industry, for <br />said computer servers, workstations, and other related hardware and software; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dell has provided a quote under the State of Florida Contract #250-040-08- <br />1 for the purchase of the computer servers, workstations, and other related hardware and <br />software, in a total amount not to exceed Thirty-Five Thousand Dollars ($35,000.00), attached <br />hereto as Exhibit "A"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to purchase said computer servers, <br />workstations, and other related hardware and software from Dell. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authorization of Purchase. The City Commission hereby authorizes the purchase <br />of computer servers, workstations, and other related hardware and software from Dell for the <br />City- Wide Replacement Program, under State of Florida Contract #250-040-08-1, in a total <br />amount not to exceed Thirty-Five Thousand Dollars ($35,000.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager.
