Companies the size of URS will have on-going various legal proceedings pending against the Company or its subsidiaries in connection with the performance of our professional services. As such, as with any and all large nationally recognized professional service organizations the size of URS Corporation, we all from time to time become the target of sometimes legitimate as well as nefarious litigation actions. In response to and in defense of such actions, URS maintains substantial liability insurance programs and policies to protect itself from any and all litigation. Additionally, the Company has substantial assets, including liquid assets of several tens of million dollars at any given time. ~ Due to the large size of the company and the tens of thousands of projects either in progress or under construction at any given time, the company has a variable numbers of litigation actions ongoing nationally and some worldwide at any given time. These actions are far too numerous to list and detail in response to this RFP. Current litigation actions are estimated to be on the order of 1 litigation action for every $100 million of earned revenue. The Company's management does not believe that any of such proceedings currently in progress will have a material or adverse effect on the consolidated financial position and operations of the Company.
