(2005 to present) · As Director of l:ngineering and Construction for the Tri County Commuter Rail Authority (Tri-Rail), was directly involved and responsible in capital improvements totaling more than $120 million, including the planning, design, and construction of a 1.2-milc extension of the railroad. The project included constructing new track and upgrading existing track, installing a new signal system and upgrading existing signals, rehabilitation of a 70-year-old bascule bridge over the Miami River to improve reliability, and environmental remediation of a site for a new station, and design and construction of a new train station. The project cost was $15M. (1994-1998) · Deputy Project Director, and then Project Director, for the design, and design services during construction, of the Brickell Extension of Miami's Automated People Mover, Miami-Dade County, Florida. The project included more than 1.1 miles of elevated guideway, \vith a high-level bridge over the Miami River. \Vas also the structural Engineer of Record for the six stations, two of which are high level, 8+ story stations on either side of the River. Total project costs were $250M; the guideway and station project costs on the Brickell Extension were $39M. The design was fast-tracked and completed within one year, and was bid $8.31\1 under the original construction budget. The total project was completed on time and $251\1 under budget.
