Mr, Abramson noted that a feasibility study needs to be done and
that there are several points that must be covered in this particular study, and the first and
most important is "Can the Oceanwalk be permitted?", and "What funding is available
through the State, the Federal Government, the County, and the City?"; and after that he
suggested that plans be drawn outlining what can be built there considering the terrain,
and with the approval of various governmental agencies, and after that it goes out for bids
and to determine what the cost is going to be. He said then we must determined where it
is going to be and, it is their position, that it should be commencing about a 100-yards
north of Haulover Beach by the Tropicana Condominium and extend up to the
Thunderbird, Turnberry property, He said the reason to stop there is because the beach
becomes very narrow from that point on, and it needs beach renourishment, which is
another project that should be started in the meantime, Mr. Abramson also noted that
there has been much controversy about this and he said he is sadden by that because the
City should be united working together.
