PUBLIC HEARINGS (Other than Ordinances for Second Reading) <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />9. ORDINANCES FOR SECOND READING (Public Hearings) <br /> <br />9A. An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, <br />Amending Ordinance No. 2004-203, Establishing Guidelines for the Issuance of <br />Special Events Permits; Providing for the City Manager or Designee with the Authority <br />to Issue, Modify, or Revoke Permits for Special Events; Providing for Enforcement; <br />Requiring Applications for Outdoor Events that are not "Special Events" as Defined <br />Hereunder; Providing for a Repealer; Providing for Inclusion in the Code; and Providing <br />for an Effecti ve Date. <br /> <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Building and Code Enforcement & Licensing <br />Department Assistant Administrator Robert Solera reported, and noted that this is for <br />events that encompass 1,000 people or more. <br /> <br />Public Speakers: none <br /> <br />Commissioner Thaler suggested that it should be 500 people not 1,000, and <br />Commissioner Iglesias offered a compromise of 750. It was the consensus of the <br />Commission to change it to in excess of 750 people. <br /> <br />Commissioner Iglesias moved and Commissioner Brezin seconded a motion to adopt the <br />ordinance, as amended.
