PUBLIC HEARINGS (Other than Ordinances for Second Reading) None 9. ORDINANCES FOR SECOND READING (Public Hearings) 9A. An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Amending Ordinance No. 2004-203, Establishing Guidelines for the Issuance of Special Events Permits; Providing for the City Manager or Designee with the Authority to Issue, Modify, or Revoke Permits for Special Events; Providing for Enforcement; Requiring Applications for Outdoor Events that are not "Special Events" as Defined Hereunder; Providing for a Repealer; Providing for Inclusion in the Code; and Providing for an Effecti ve Date. Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Building and Code Enforcement & Licensing Department Assistant Administrator Robert Solera reported, and noted that this is for events that encompass 1,000 people or more. Public Speakers: none Commissioner Thaler suggested that it should be 500 people not 1,000, and Commissioner Iglesias offered a compromise of 750. It was the consensus of the Commission to change it to in excess of 750 people. Commissioner Iglesias moved and Commissioner Brezin seconded a motion to adopt the ordinance, as amended.
