<br />Regular City Commission Meeting <br /> <br />June 3, 2004 <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br /> <br />12C. Add-On <br />Willie A viles asked if the City planned on widening Collins A venue to alleviate the <br />traffic problem, and Commissioner Iglesias said that Collins A venue is a state road and <br />falls under FDOT, and so does William Lehman Causeway and Sunny Isles Boulevard. <br />He said that the City has worked with FDOT such as on the median closures which <br />narrows the access points of where you make the left turns, however, there is not much <br />you can really do with Collins A venue. He said that during the construction of these <br />buildings where there may be lane closures, there will be delays. Mr. A viles said he was <br />concerned about the traffic the new condominiums will create. He also asked about <br />North Bay Road, he said it used to be a straight road, and the City allowed the builders to <br />move the road, and he asked about a foot bridge there. City Manager Russo said that the <br />bridge connecting that could possibly hold an emergency vehicle, and that study is still <br />on-going with the Coast Guard and all the entities involved in granting permission to <br />cross the waterway, but to his knowledge that will not be a traveled roadway except <br />possibly for an emergency vehicle. Vice Mayor Goodman suggested that he attend the <br />Traffic and Safety Committee meetings. <br /> <br />13.
