Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting April 15, 2004 City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida between the cities that surround Sunny Isles Beach. Public Speakers: none Commissioner Iglesias moved and Commissioner Thaler seconded a motion to approve the resolution. Resolution No. 2004-668 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. 9R. Add-On: A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Amending Resolution No. 2003-591 Establishing a Schedule for City Commission Meetings for Calendar Year 2004, by Changing the Zoning Hearings into Regular City Commission Meetings, Beginning at 7:30 p.m.; Providing for an Effective Date. Action: City Clerk Hines read the title and Mayor Edelcup reported that this would expedite the issues rather than waiting 30 days. Commissioner Brezin asked if the first meeting of the month could be changed to another date, and Mayor Edelcup asked if we can bring that up at the next meeting when everyone can bring their calendar. City Attorney Dannheisser clarified that Zoning can go on either meeting, not just the first meeting. Public Speakers: none Vice Mayor Goodman moved and Commissioner Iglesias seconded a motion to approve the resolution, as amended. Resolution No. 2004-669 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. 10. MOTIONS None 11. DISCUSSION ITEMS None 12. CITIZENS' FORUM: REQUESTS, PETITIONS & OTHER COMMUNICATIONS 12A. Kathleen Kennedy said she needed help regarding gangs in the North Bay Road area around Intercoastal Yacht Club and Porto Bellagio, and she is asking for Police presence at night. She is urging the Commission to put pressure on Mr. Milton to put extra security at the Intercoastal Yacht Club. She stated that at around 4:00 p.m., they come off the school buses in front of Intercoastal Yacht Club and the Plaza, and they congregate and hang out, and they don't live in the neighborhood.
