Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting July 19,2007 City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 4. ORDER OF BUSINESS (Additions/Deletions/Amendments) 4A. Request to Hear Items: Withdraw Item 12A re: Newport Pier; Hear Item 1 OG when Michael Dezer arrives. Action: Mayor Edelcup noted the above change to withdraw Item 12A as it was discussed at the Budget Workshop earlier this week [July 16,2007]; and asked that Item 10G be moved up on the agenda when Michael Dezer arrives. Commissioner Iglesias moved and Vice Mayor Thaler seconded a motion to approve the above changes to the agenda. The motion was approved by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. 5. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS SA. A Proclamation to be Presented to Mary Lee, Owner of Christine Lee's Restaurant, Proclaiming July 19,2007 as "Mary Lee Day in Sunny Isles Beach". Action: Mayor Edelcup presented a Proclamation to Mary Lee, and introduced her close friends Harvey and Renee Leifman, who are the parents of Judge Steve Leifman who just recently received a Governor's appointment on the Appellant Court here in Florida. Mary Lee thanked the Commission, Chief Maas, and staff for their support over the years. She said it was a difficult decision to close the restaurant after 37 years here in Sunny Isles Beach but a wonderful opportunity came up, and announced that she is reopening her Restaurant at the Gulfstream Race Track in Hallandale. [City Clerk's Note: Mayor Edelcup indicated that Michael Dezer had arrived and that we would hear Item 10G at this time.] 6. ZONING: ZONING HEARINGS ARE QUASI-JUDICIAL PUBLIC HEARINGS. None 7.
