<br />Preview <br /> <br />Page 1 of2 <br /> <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br /> <br />(305) 947-0606 City Hall <br />(305) 949-3113 Fax <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />The Honorable Mayor and City Commission <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Giovanni Batista, Public Works Director <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />12/15/2011 <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />Contract with Calvin Giordano & Associates for permitting services for <br />the the Emergency Bridge Project <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />The staff recommends that the Commission approve the Resolution awarding RFQ 11-07 <br />-01 to and entering into an agreement with Calvin Giordano & Associates for consulting <br />and permitting services for the North Bay Road Emergency Bridge Project. <br /> <br />REASONS: <br /> <br />On July 15,2010, Resolution No. 2010-1590 was adopted by the City authorizing Calvin <br />Giordano & Associates (CGA) to begin the process of applying for necessary permits and <br />resolving any permit issues related to the Emergency Bridge Project proposed for North <br />Bay Road. CGA utilized the services of EAS Engineering which specializes in <br />environmental permitting and who has experiences contending with many of the agencies <br />having jurisdiction over the required permits. Subsequently, on July 1, 2011, city staff <br />prepared and issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) No. 11-07-01 for professional <br />consulting services including but not limited to prime consultant services, permitting, and <br />design development related to the Emergency Bridge Project. <br /> <br />Based on relevant experience, qualifications, past performance, and the firm's knowledge <br />of this City project, city staff recommends the firm of Calvin Giordano and Associates <br />for award of a contract for services. <br /> <br />FUNDING SOURCE: <br /> <br />Funding is available in Account No. 20-600-5651. <br /> <br />t\ "bh!T(oP-At,..
