Always make <br />repairs to all PVC or `wethose' pipe after flushing the <br />pipe. After repairs are complete, turn the system on to <br />verify that no additional work is required. <br />L18.2.2. Quarterly — In addition to monthly maintenance <br />schedule, open flush ports and let water run a minimum <br />of 3 minutes. Check filter elements for excess residual <br />and replace if needed. <br />L18.2.3. Annually — In addition to monthly maintenance schedule, <br />replace filter elements and controller batteries. <br />Chemically flush system using `Disolve' (this process will <br />remove iron, calcium, and other buildup on the inside of <br />the `wethose' and PVC pipe). <br />L18.2.4. Accidental damage to system — Follow the monthly <br />procedure and be mindful to always flush the system <br />before and after making repairs. <br />L18.3. Requirements for Conventional Irrigation Systems within project limits: <br />The Contractor is to familiarize himself with the existing irrigations <br />systems and is responsible for the repair of all components to insure a <br />continually efficient irrigation system. This includes the adjustment of <br />the controllers to insure the correct amount of precipitation necessary for <br />viable vegetative growth, always following any South Florida Water <br />Maintenance District drought guidelines. Contractor is to perform <br />monthly wet tests, to verify viability of system, on the last Wednesday of <br />each month. On the first day of each month report to City, in writing, <br />indicating proper operation of each zone, required repairs, additional <br />costs and updated run time per zone. <br />L19. The Contractor, at his /her expense, will be responsible for the proper maintenance, <br />replacement, repair, or retro - fitting of all irrigation components. The wholesale cost of <br />parts only will be borne by the City, with proper documentation and approval by the City. <br />Labor costs will be paid by the City at the contract approved hourly rate. Any necessary <br />repairs, other than routine irrigation head replacement must be approved in writing by <br />the City prior to start of work. <br />L20. Fertilizer and materials shall be delivered in original, unopened, and undamaged <br />containers showing weight, analysis, and name of manufacturer.
