CITY OF

SUNNY

ISLES

BEACH

CIVIL ENGINEERING SERVICES TO DESIGN STREET AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS

)

REFERENCE:
FM No.:
Contract Amount:
Begin/End Date:

Mr. Rob McDaniel; (904) 943.5253
5119928
$100,000
2001/2003

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
As a subconsultant, FRA provides designates, locates by excavation, survey and map of existing surface
and subsurface utilities on an as needed basis.

MISCELLANEOUS SUBSURFACE UTILITY ENGINEERING
CLIENT: Jacksonville Electric Authority
21 W Church Street, Jacksonville, FL 32216
Mr. Bradley Collier, P.E.; (904) 655.6493
JCS.101.04
$450,000
June 2004/0ngoing

REFERENCE:
Ref No.:
CONTRACT AMOUNT:
BEGIN/END DATE:

)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This JEA service area contract consists of designating and locating subsurface utilities for numerous
projects throughout the JEA service area wide. FRA ensures each project is completed in a timely manner
and meets all requirements needed. FRA coordinates each work order and reviews safety procedures as
well as equipment needed on each project as it applies to the JEA policies and procedures. He
coordinates with JEA Project Managers, utility company personnel, city and county municipalities as well as
private companies and public landowners to ensure project partnering, This project is the second district
wide SUE contract with JEA; to-date -150 individual projects have been successfully completed. Below is
a sampling of project specific assignments:

. Argyle Forest Boulevard: The client engaged FRA after numerous utility conflicts were discovered on
an earlier phase of this roadway-widening project. An investment in SUE locates allowed the current
phase to proceed with fewer delays, and a better budget.

. Oakwood Villas: Over 100 test holes were done to predetermine underground conflicts and allow the
design of new utilities in a less disruptive manner, The client believes it receives more competitive
bids once SUE locates are performed.

. Scott Mill Road: Design of a vacuum sewer system. SUE locates minimized conflicts with existing
utilities and afforded more competitive bids.

qll R.J.Behar

R. J.
