SOTO, P.E.
REGION REGIONAL MANAGER

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Mr. Soto has 30 years of experience providing geotechnical engineering
and consulting services. These services include laboratory studies,
geotechnical design, analyses and recommendations related to the design
and construction of foundations and geotechnical exploration programs.

Mr. Soto is knowledgeable in the analysis and evaluation of field and
laboratory data, performing in-situ soil testing, in-place permeability
testing, geophysical explorations and special inspection services for
commercial structures. He has evaluated bearing capacity and settlement
for different types of shallow and deep foundation systems. His analysis
has included the evaluation of retaining walls, sheet piling systems, slope
stability analysis of conventional and reinforced embankments, evaluation
of drilled shafts, augercast piles and driven piles. His experience includes
the evaluation, design, and implementation of different subsurface
improvement programs such as the application of dynamic compaction,
preloading, compaction grouting, vibro-compaction techniques, and CSV
System. He has performed studies including monitoring vibrations of
structures during construction.

1
I

. i

PROJECT EXPERIENCE
FDOT Districtwide Materials Testing District IV, Contract No. C-
7318
Project Manager/Senior Geotechnical Engineer involved in coordination,
reviewing the field exploration, laboratory testing and geotechnical studies
to provide recommendations for roadways, bridges, MSE Walls, cantilever
walls

FDOT Districtwide Materials Testing, District VI, Contract No.
C-7732
Project Manager/Senior Geotechnical Engineer involved in coordination,
reviewing the field exploration, laboratory testing and geotechnical studies
to provide recommendations for roadways, bridges, MSE Walls, cantilever
walls

Pedestrian Bridge EI Rio Canal Pathway from Yamato Road to
L-40 Canal Boca Raton, Florida
Principal Geotechnical Engineer involved in geotechnical services in
connection with a pedestrian bridge over the existing L-40/E-4 Canal
Intersection

SR826 and N.W. 74th Street, Interchange Improvement; Miami-
Dade County, Florida
Senior Geotechnical Engineer to review field exploration, laboratory
testing and geotechnical recommendations for bridges, walls and poor
soils (trash) for this project

SR836 Interchange Improvements at the Florida Turnpike;
Miami-Dade County, Florida
Senior Geotechnical Engineer to coordinate and review field exploration,
laboratory testing and geotechnical recommendations for bridges and
walls supported on piles and shallow foundation

Education
Master of Science in Geotechnical
Engineering, Utah State University,
1980

Bachelor of Science in Civil
Engineering, Utah State University,
1979

Registrations
Professional Engineer, #56108,
Texas, 1994
Professional Engineer, #36440,
Florida, 1985

Affiliations
American Society of Civil Engineers
(ASCE)

Cuban Society of Engineers

I~O^RSE

A lr2lTCl0Jf'1 COMPANY

43
