The sound source is initiated and the receivers pick up
the sound as it passes through, or is reflected off the object being
'I analyzed. The sound wave and its intensity is recorded at each of
the receivers and is used to develop an image. The resulting
image can be "sliced" to produce tomographic results.

I I

\
I

The largest dinosaur remains found, and perhaps the largest dinosaur to ever live, the ~!
seismosaurus, was located by WTI namesake and co-founder, Dr. Alan Witten using i;
acoustic tomography anclmade famous in the opening scene of Jurassic Park. ,'..!'
MPS3D is proud to partner with and display the Witten Technologies' seismosaurus. ,:' J

MPS3D recently utilized acoustic tomography to detect and
map subaqueous communications facilities prior to the
" proposed dredging of a major inland waterway. The information
obtained from the acoustic imagery helped to prevent potential
exposure and damage to the communications facilities and
aided in the placement of new facilities following
dredging operations.

I ,I

Such facilities are, at best, difficult to locate.
MPS3D and our technology partner, WTI, have the
expertise your projects require.

Proposer: Craig A.
