NE 190th Street and NE 29th Avenue have been problematic
roads for the City which frequently flooded. Multiple phases of design and
construction have been completed to alleviate flooding and provide a faster
stormwater draw-down during major flood events. Some major challenges faced
during the project included the existing low elevation of the road, runoff from
adjacent properties, and existing utilities in the road. The multiple phases of work
consisted of: the cleaning and connection of existing drainage wells, installation of
exfiltration trench, interconnection of existing drainage systems, installation of an
outfall, videoed existing damaged storm lines and repaired.

NE 28th Avenue Drainage Improvements, Aventura
Project Engineer. Provided design and permitting through Miami-Dade County
DERM for the modification of the existing roadway's drainage system. The existing
roadway was served by a limited drainage system consisting of inlets and swales.
The new drainage system was designed to alleviate roadway flooding with the
installation of inlets, exfiltration trench, a drainage well, and a connection to an
adjacent City system served by an outfall.

NE 29th Ave., NE 187th St., and NE 34th Ave. Milling and Resurfacing, Aventura
Project Engineer. Realignment and renovation of an existing roadway located at
Port Everglades. The realigned roadway provided critical taxi staging lanes near
cruise ship terminals at Port Everglades. Engineering design services included the
modification of the existing roadway layout and drainage system, milling and
resurfacing, and ADA upgrades. Prepared construction documents, drainage
calculations, construction administration services and permitting.

Sunrise Public Works Complex, Sunrise
Project Engineer.
