He supervised a field <br />drilling program to ascertain the cause of the apparent settlement and prepared a recommendation for <br />underpinning the structure to inhibit further settlement. <br /> <br />. YMCA Village Carver, Miami, Florida <br />Dr. Horta served as project engineer on this twelve-story concrete structure which was developed from 2008 to <br />2009, Ardaman's involvement included providing all of the construction materials testing services for this project. <br /> <br />. Basketball Gym Building, St. Thomas University, 16401 NW 37th Ave., Miami, Florida <br />Dr. Horta served as senior project manager/engineer for this project which involved geotechnical investigation for <br />the new basketball /gym building. A total of four standard penetration test borings were completed as well as 3 <br />exfiltration tests for drainage design in related parking areas, The work was performed on functional sports fields <br />coordinating with University authorities, Spread footings were recommended for the project. <br /> <br />. Parking Garage No.6, Miami International Airport (MIA), Florida <br />Dr. Horta served as geotechnical senior project engineer for the new six (6) story parking structure. Field and <br />laboratory testing were performed that included deep SPT borings, foundation alternatives and protection of <br />adjacent structures. <br /> <br />· Maiden Island Development, Maiden Island, Antigua, West Indies <br />Dr. Horta served as geotechnical senior project engineer for this project which included a new marina, multiple <br />one and two-story structures, a lighthouse on this small island. A total of 17 borings were performed to 30 feet <br />below grade to provide foundation recommendations for the assorted structures. <br /> <br />. City of Marathon Wastewater System, Florida <br />Dr. Horta as senior geotechnical engineer for this project that completed over 40 borings to define soil <br />characteristics along the existing vacuum sewer mains for the City of Marathon, <br /> <br />\ <br />I <br /> <br />. Ardaman provided over 50 borings for the <br />recommendations of the proposed structures, foundation and other geotechnical aspects of the project.
