Preview <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />1�0, 5VN" <br />TO: <br />FROM: <br />DATE: <br />RE: <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br />(305) 947 -0606 City Hall <br />(305) 949 -3113 Fax <br />MEMORANDUM <br />The Honorable Mayor and City Commission <br />Susan Simpson, Cultural and Human Services Director <br />5/10/2012 <br />Agreement with Shorty's Bar -B -Q for Catering Services <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached resolution to enter into <br />an agreement with Shorty's Bar -B -Q for Catering Services for the City's annual <br />anniversary event in an amount not to exceed Thirty Five Thousand, One Hundred, <br />Thirty Eight Dollars and Twenty Five Cents, ($35,138.25). <br />REASONS: <br />The City will host its annual City Anniversary event with barbecue style food for the <br />residents on Sunday, June 17, 2012 with an estimated attendance of 3500 guests. The <br />City issued RFP No. 12 -03 -02 in which Shorty's Bar -B -Q submitted a bid. Shorty's has <br />proven experience serving thousands of guests in an efficient and professional manner. <br />Additionally a tasting was conducted to insure that the quality of the product met the <br />standards established for City hosted events and Shorty's was found to be the most <br />responsive and responsible bidder. <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br />This agreement includes all of the serving supplies and equipment, service goods (plates, <br />flatware, etc.) and personnel for the catering portion of the event. <br />FUNDING SOURCE: <br />Funding is budgeted for and available in the General Fund through the Special Events <br />line item, number 10.572.5574. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Agenda Item <br />Date <br />http: / /sibagenda. sibfl.net/agenda/Preview. aspx ?1tem1D =785 &MeetingID= <br />
