Russo, City Manager <br /> FROM: Elka Linton-Dorsett, Capital Projects Manager <br /> DATE: 11/17/2016 <br /> Resolution Approving Fourth Amendment with RJ Behar <br /> RE: & Company, Inc for Engineering Services during <br /> Construction of the Samson Oceanfront Park <br /> Improvements. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends approval of this resolution. <br /> REASONS: <br /> Included in the adopted City Capital Improvement Plan is a project for <br /> construction of improvements to Samson Oceanfront Park. <br /> Programmed improvements include expanding the public restrooms, <br /> installing a properly sized and routed sanitary sewer lateral, constructing <br /> a new performance area and playground, upgrading the hardscape and <br /> landscaping features, wall and signage enhancements and replacing <br /> the existing deteriorated site lighting and associated electrical system. <br /> RJ Behar has been the project consultant providing Engineering and <br /> Architectural Design, Permit and Construction oversight services for the <br /> Samson Park improvements. This request for additional services is <br /> related to site lighting modifications and the associated permitting <br /> through Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and <br /> Florida Fish Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) to conform with <br /> requirements for "sea turtle friendly lighting" (i.e. generally low wattage, <br /> shielded, downward facing lights not visible from the shoreline.) while <br /> 168 <br />
