Killian Hill Multi-Use Path | 2-8 Planning and Urban Design | 2-8 Atkins | City of Sunny Isles Beach, RFQ No. 12-04-020006.027944.0512 City of Panama Beach Community Redevelopment Area Transportation Panama City Beach, Florida Atkins was selected as the general engi- neering consultant for this comprehensive roadway redevelopment program and has provided engineering design and construc- tion administration services for multiple projects that have been completed, includ- ing Churchwell Drive and Richard Jackson Boulevard, and for multiple phases of South Thomas Drive/Front Beach Road now under construction. The project involves reconstruction of virtually every major roadway within the city, converting the existing eight-mile Front Beach Road corridor into a multimodal facility with equal emphasis on pedestrians, bikes, and vehicles. All roadways listed in the plan will be reconstructed to include pedestrian, bicycle, and transit features along with aesthetic improvements such as landscaping, streetscaping, street lighting, and undergrounding of all aerial utilities. Improvements include converting segments of the existing two-lane Front Beach Road roadway into four-lane facilities with a travel lane and a bicycle/tram/trol- ley lane in each direction, with landscaped medians, improved drainage and stormwater facilities, and converting aerial utility line to underground facilities.
