City of Sunny Isles Beach ∙ RFQ No. 12-04-02 – Planning & Urban Design
2-2
eleven sites, detailing land use, zoning, property cost; cost to plan, design,
construct and maintain a facility, and neighborhood impacts and public
involvement. The project resulted in the thoughtful consideration and selection
of a location for such a facility. For Miami-Dade County, the firm performed a
feasibility study of developing transit along the US-1 Corridor, resulting in an
acknowledgement that Heavy Rail transit as a preferred alternative was no
longer feasible, and that to be successful in the provision of efficient and
effective transit service, a more right-sized form of transit would need to be
identified. For multiple cities, the firm has evaluated the feasibility of
annexations.

PLANNING STUDIES FOR OPERATIONAL
FACILITIES
Corradino has performed planning studies for operational facilities on numerous
occasions. The firm has examined the costs and benefits of the Detroit
Intermodal Freight Terminal, the Miami Beach Intermodal Facility, The Louisville
Airport Improvement Program and many more. All of these studies were integral
in determining the costs and benefits of the development of public infrastructure
to service their communities. Often these have well-defined, economic impacts
on a community that can last decades. Performing a study of this natu re is an
exercise in detail—first, identifying a variety of alternatives, and then identifying
multiple-operational, and prioritization, criteria. Financial analysis is also key. This
includes cost of land, planning, design, construction as well as operations and
maintenance, amortized over the life of the facility. The studies progress by
screening alternatives through the various criteria and finally ranking
alternatives. Once a preferred alternative is selected, it is critical to perform the
necessary public outreach in order to implement the facility.

LAND SURVEYS
For land surveying, Corradino is teamed with Hadonne Corp., which has been
performing surveys for public and private-sector clients for years. They have an
excellent reputation for accuracy and timely delivery of their work. They have
worked to survey local, infrastructure-development projects like sidewalks and
streets. They have also done boundary surveys for annexations, and performed
site surveys for the development of parks and other public facilities.
