<br />Mr. Shahnami is a registered Professional Engineer with 30 years of experience in
<br />the mechanical, electrical, IAQ, and plumbing fields. His registration in several
<br />states makes him particularly well qualified to perform design-engineering tasks
<br />across the nation for a wide range of clients. Also, he has specialized experience
<br />managing continuing services contracts with both public and private clients.
<br />Mr. Shahnami areas of expertise are heat transfer, fluids, indoor air quality, steam
<br />systems, heat recovery and geothermal systems. He has utilized this expertise
<br />such that SGM Engineering is recognized as one of the leading firms in the State of
<br />Florida with respect to high performance, energy efficient designs for local and
<br />federal government facilities. This is evident thru the award of the first two LEED
<br />sustainable schools in Central Florida. Mr. Shahnami’s project experience has
<br />been predominantly in the local and federal government markets which includes but
<br />not limited to the United States Navy, Army Corps of Engineers, City of Orlando,
<br />and the United States Air Force. He is registered in over 38 states which has led
<br />him to a broad knowledge of building codes across the country.
<br />Mr. Shahnami is the president of the firm and has the authority to represent the firm
<br />in all contractual matters. Mr. Shahnami has received a Certificate of Recognition
<br />by the Orange County Chairman for outstanding design of make-up water retrofit at
<br />the Convention Center’s Central Utility Plant. The design incorporated the use of
<br />reclaimed water as make-up water for the existing Cooling Towers (2,200 Tons
<br />Cooling). The Cooling Towers now are using Reclaimed Water for HVAC purposes.
<br />The new design has saved Orange County Convention Center over $100,000 per
<br />year in drinking water.
<br />As an ACG Certified Commissioning Agent, Mr. Shahnami has managed LEED-
<br />certification and design; provided commissioning and advanced commissioning;
<br />has experience with controllable systems (lighting, thermal comfort), water
<br />efficiency, energy efficiency, and indoor environmental quality; experience with
<br />materials selection including recycled materials and content and low-emitting
<br />materials selection; and experience with materials reuse.

<br />Project Experience
<br />2012, Flagler County Courthouse Annex Sherriff’s Department Renovations
<br />and Energy Efficient Upgrades, Bunnell, FL – As Principal in Charge, Mr.
<br />Shahnami is overseeing the renovations to accommodate the needs of the sheriff’s
<br />operations. Renovations include the following: Add fire sprinkler system,
<br />replacement of the main fire alarm panel, repair exterior windows, confirm fire rated
<br />separation between Historic Courthouse and Annex, replace A/C ductwork, VAV
<br />units and controls, provide a ducted return system, test and balance the new
<br />system, replace all lighting with energy efficient fixtures and lighting controls,
<br />replace electrical power distribution system, new communications data and
<br />technologies equipment, renovate all restrooms to ADA standards, replace all
<br />suspended acoustical ceilings and grid with new efficient acoustic values, replace
<br />all water heaters with energy efficient units.
<br />2010 Orange County Fire & Rescue, Fire Station #35, Orlando, FL –SGM
<br />developed the owners OPR documents, reviewed drawings during construction,
<br />developed the commissioning plan, attended construction meetings, witnessed
<br />equipment start up, performed functional performance tests on the equipment and
<br />provided Test & Balance services. Commissioning procedures were performed
<br />following the ACG guidelines and the requirements of LEED.
<br />2010, Orlando Science Center HVAC, Lighting, Power, Plumbing & Fire
<br />Protection Energy Assessment, Orlando, FL – Mr. Shahnami oversaw the
<br />engineering services to identify and recommend the best and most economical and
<br />energy efficient method of correcting the HVAC equipment located at the Orlando
<br />Science Center Complex. Responsibilities included: operation and the deficiencies
<br />associated with the operation. Inspect the facilities in areas of HVAC, lighting,
<br />power, Fire Alarm, security system, Plumbing & FP system.
