®:0100 I� <br />GOOD COMPANY. <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH GOVERNMENT CTR. // FL <br />SECTION 2 // QUALIFICATIONS <br />QUALIFICATIONS: PROPOSER'S RELEVANT <br />EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND PAST PERFORMANCE <br />WHYWEITZ IS BEST QUALIFIEDTO PERFORMTHE CONTRACT <br />The Weitz Company is excited to be considered for the Construction <br />management (CM) Services contract for Gateway Park. Having <br />completed the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center in 2005 we look <br />forward to working with the City again on the upcoming Gateway Park <br />project. Weitz brings several unique qualifications to the City that will <br />benefit the Gateway Park project execution. <br />First, Weitz is a Construction Manager with 34 years experience in South <br />Florida. This is of benefit to the City because we have utilized every <br />structural and building system currently available which enables us to <br />look at the proposed plans and specifications and provide valuable in -site <br />into how to accomplish the goals in the most effective way for the City <br />and Developer. As evidenced by our extensive repeat client relationships <br />we stay in touch and understand how the buildings that we helped <br />develop are operating and what are the successes but more importantly <br />the failures that lead to undesirable life cycle performance. This data and <br />experience will be utilized on the Sunny Isles Beach project to balance <br />first cost with long term maintenance cost (i.e. life cycle cost). <br />The second reason Weitz is best suited to perform the work is we <br />understand South Florida construction cost intimately. Because we <br />actively price work and compete for projects on this basis we know what <br />each component in the project costs today. This means with Weitz as <br />your advocate, the City will have first hand cost information to ensure <br />the best value is received during value engineering, the establishment of <br />the project price and subsequent request for changes. <br />Weitz understands schedules, the required production and the resources <br />required to meet dates. Because we are often tasked with delivering <br />projects on tight time lines we have unique scheduling tools that we <br />will bring to the project to "smoke out" issues and most importantly <br />identify plans to correct them. As evidence of our ability to meet critical <br />time lines we offer the fact that we have never been assessed liquidated <br />damages on a project since we have been in South Florida. By working <br />closely with the Developer and the City we will make sure the Gateway <br />Park project is delivered on -time. <br />Weitz understands the opportunities, issues and challenges associated <br />with the design -build and construction process. Because we often <br />contract with Municipalities under this arrangement we will bring unique <br />insight to the City of Sunny Isles Beach.
