On the first day of each month report to City, in writing, <br />indicating proper operation of each zone, required repairs, additional <br />costs and updated run time per zone. Contractor shall ensure that all <br />irrigation systems have 100% coverage with 50% overlap. <br />L19. The Contractor, at his /her expense, will be responsible for the proper maintenance, <br />replacement, repair, or retro - fitting of all irrigation components. The wholesale cost of <br />parts only will be borne by the City, with proper documentation and approval by the City. <br />Labor costs will be paid by the City at the contract approved hourly rate. Any necessary <br />repairs, other than routine irrigation head replacement must be approved in writing by <br />the City prior to start of work. <br />L20. Fertilizer and materials shall be delivered in original, unopened, and undamaged <br />containers showing weight, analysis, and name of manufacturer. All fertilizer materials <br />shall be stored in manner to prevent wetting and deterioration. <br />L21. Fertilizer and insect /disease control materials shall be applied at the rates established by <br />accepted horticultural standards, manufacturer's recommendations, by certified <br />specialists, and as approved by City. Contractor shall provide a list of suppliers for the <br />fertilizer / insect control materials for approval by the City. <br />L21.1 <br />Lawn: For control of fire ants, use Award Fire Ant Killer. Follow <br />manufacturer's instructions for applications amounts and rates. <br />L21.1.1. <br />February — Apply granular 20 -0 -20 with Atrazine or approved equal; St. <br />Augustine'Floratam' Sod and 'Argentine' Bahia Sod, <br />L21.1.2. <br />May — Apply liquid 16 -4 -8 with micro - nutrients and Telstar or <br />equal insect control. <br />L21.1.3. <br />September — Apply liquid 16 -4 -8 with micro - nutrients and Telstar <br />or equal insect control. <br />L21.1.4. <br />December — Apply granular 20 -0 -10 with Atrazine. <br />L21.1.5. <br />The Spring thru Fall application rates for lawn areas will vary according <br />to weather and environmental conditions, but typically average 75 <br />granular pounds per 1000 sq. ft. <br />L21.2 <br />Palms (except Phoenix Dactilifera and Phoenix Canariensis Date <br />Palms): <br />L21.2.1. <br />Apply four applications per year (at quarterly intervals) of liquid 16 -4 -8 <br />with micro - nutrients and granular 13 -3 -13 with micro - nutrients. <br />L21.2.2. <br />The time of the applications will coincide with the lawn <br />applications. <br />L21.2.3. <br />The liquid and granular applications will alternate throughout the <br />year (2 applications of liquid and 2 of granular). <br />L21.2.4. <br />Supplemental Manganese Sulfate and Sul- po -mag may be required to <br />correct nutrient deficiency. <br />L21.2.5. <br />OTC (Lethal Yellowing) injections, as required. <br />L21.3 Trees: <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach I Request for Proposal No. 12 -05 -01 . <br />
