,.irk OF sUN W, <br />NOTWITHSTANDING ANY LANGUAGE IN THIS CONTRACT, ALL CHEMICAL <br />APPLICATIONS SHALL REQUIRE WRITTEN APPROVAL BY CITY PRIOR TO APPLICATION. <br />CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT YEARLY, QUARTERLY, AND MONTHLY CALENDARS FOR <br />APPROVAL PURPOSES RELATING TO CHEMICAL APPLICATIONS AND LOCATIONS. <br />L27. All mowers must be rotary mowers with a maximum of a 72" cut. They shall be adjusted <br />to 2 1/2" or 3" cutting height as directed by City, shall be in good repair, shall have no oil <br />or gas leaks, and shall be equipped with grass catchers and sharp blades. Mower blades <br />shall be sharpened or new prior to each cut. All rotary mowers must be mulching -type <br />mowers with no discharge allowed, or all clippings must be manually removed. All <br />equipment must be maintained in sound working condition in order not to exceed <br />comfortable decibel levels or as determined by the City at its sole discretion. Edgers <br />shall be in good repair, shall have no oil or gas leaks, and shall provide a clean straight <br />edge not more than 1/2" away from walks and edge of pavement. <br />L28. Premium 'Red' or Brown mulch (provide evidence of type and grade of mulch, to City, <br />prior to delivery, for approval by City's' Landscape Architect). Color to be specified by <br />City. Mulch shall be placed around all planting areas not covered by shrubs, ground <br />cover, or existing mulch (two times per year, or as directed by City), so as to effect a <br />2.5" mulch depth. Mulch shall be installed so as to not be within 3" of base of plant <br />material. Contractor will provide and install all required mulch at the contract unit prices. <br />L29. All mowing waste shall be removed and properly disposed of from curbs, gutters, and <br />general site. Weekend mowing is not allowed unless specifically authorized in writing by <br />the City, however, cleanup, as defined in these specifications, is required. The <br />Government Center and Charter School shall be mowed only on Saturdays. Wind -row <br />mowing patterns are not permitted. <br />L30. The mowing of all Bermuda turf is not to exceed 11/2" height or as directed by the City, <br />with a hydrostatic reel type mower. Remove all clippings with each cut. Reel mowers <br />shall be in good repair and blades sharpened weekly. All Bermuda turf shall be mowed <br />and edged a minimum of two times per week, including weekends (104 cuts). Turf shall <br />be cross -cut. Choice' mole cricket control (on Bermuda turf) chemical shall be used once <br />per year during the month of May. The Contractor shall follow the manufacturer's <br />instructions for application methods and amounts. The Contractor shall apply Diazanon, <br />on Bermuda turf, and on an "as needed" and curative basis only. The Contractor shall <br />apply Daconil fungicide at the first appearance of fungus and following the <br />manufacturer's instructions for application methods and amounts. <br />L31. For fungus control on Bermuda turf, the Contractor shall use two applications of Revere, <br />Subdue, or approved equal. The first application is to occur in March and the second <br />application is to occur in September. <br />L32. For weed control, on Bermuda turf, the Contractor shall use two applications of <br />Pendulum or Ronstar.
