4. Approach /Methodolgy:
As there are specific times cited in the RFP for specific tasks, Nanak's will review
and prepare an annual calendar of proposed service dates for all recurring
services listed in the RFP. As previously offered, Nanak's will employ a team of
approximately 17 people to accomplish the directives of the RFP. Tasks will be
broken down into their respective frequencies and personnel will be assigned to
specialized crews equipped to complete those specific tasks. For example, one
team will be assigned, trash pick up, one will be assigned the mowing of parks,
one will be assigned the trimming of Collins Avenue's medians, etc.
Crews and equipment will be staged from the Lehman Causeway storage
parking area and will report directly to the site for each day's assignment.
Having employees report directly to the service area will allow for maximized
productivity in the work day.
Staff will be available for special and /or non recurring assignments relating to
ball fields, graffiti, shopping carts, or any other miscellaneous requests that fall
under the scope of the RFP.
Upon notification of award, a meeting will be scheduled with the key team
members from our firm with the appropriate manager(s) from the City. The
property will be physically toured to provide all parties with a clear
understanding of the City's expectations and its special needs. Within the first
week, all documentation will be prepared, contracts executed, and insurance
certificates provided. The irrigation system will be thoroughly evaluated to
identify any deferred maintenance issues and the results of said evaluation will
be provided to the City representative. The transition team will include those
individuals listed in Section 2 or the RFP.
The Nanak's Landscaping team embraces the philosophy that quality is the
most important factor in the maintenance of a property. As such, property
inspections are frequent, and performed by several different individuals. At a
minimum, the site is inspected by the aforementioned territory manager every
mowing service. In addition, the Operations Manager reviews the scope of
contracted services that are scheduled for each month and will coordinate with
the various division managers to ensure the satisfactory completion of those
services. The Operations Manager will also inspect the site each month to
ensure compliance with the scope. The General Manager and Associate
General Manager make recurring visits at least quarterly to monitor the progress
of service. All efforts will be made to address any specific or urgent matters that
require immediate attention.
